THE MARKS: ONE NIGHT
One night, seven rooms, every label ours. The deli sells EYE CRUNCH and NAZAR COLA, the station is Uncounted St, the census taker is still counting, and the cat is not for sale. Each room opens onto a photograph turned into depth, so the street, the aisle and the skyline go on past the walls. 150 of the uncounted hang where New Yorkers would hang them: wheatpasted on plywood, over the deli shelves, on the platform, on the washing line. The nine era closers have the theatre to themselves. Nobody picks, not even MLow.
